Firing in the Dark

The world always revamps itself then and again in various perspectives. Life, Art, Architecture, Technology and Civil Laws. All these change or rather are modified then and again. What works in a certain period need not be valid or acceptable in the present scenario. There was a time when punishment for crime was synonymous to being hanged. But now laws changed, we don't live like barbarians. Not even when we are dealing with them. People too are divided into several classes, but then these existed always. Those who are cynical about the system, those who accept the system as it is, often aren't concerned about it, those who take the system to their advantage and those who revolt against the system. The last category is an interesting set. People like to revolt. Its the survival instinct of mankind. Often people search for a reason to revolt but fear being hit back or lack of support. But in situations when revolting seems the correct thing to do, even the numb guy sitting in the back through out his life finds this opportunity to revolt, tie a band to his head, abuse those who deserve it and mostly feel pride in it. Because they enjoy it. Often people are not concerned about the consequences or repercussions of  their actions. Most of them aren't really aware of the cause in detail. All they needed was a rope and they're gonna pull it no mater what. This isn't mocking the entire system of revolt. This is concerned about those elements of revolt who entertain themselves in the same.

NOTE: But protest is necessary when there is no other go. Situations like Kashmir, et al., where situation is all the way back for Independence, any measure is justified as long as it is guided.

They created a system so that no longer people need to face the struggle the did and can rightfully select the person they want to rule the nation. But that doesn't seem enough to people anymore

When Mr. Mahatma Gandhi lead the Independence movement along with several other powerful patriots, there was a cause behind it. They saw their people suffering and couldn't do anything due to a government that doesn't support public view. It was an archaic system. All the prime leaders of India did consider the option of serving the nation by being a part of it. Mr. MK Gandhi did his barrister and worked as a lawyer. Mr. SC Bose was an ICS candidate. There was no option for them to change the system other than forming a new one. They had to engage in a revolution, revolution for the betterment of their homeland. For their people. It was justified and inspiring. But the system lead to something ironical. Though the methods used by our founding fathers, violent and non-violent were only because there was no way. There was no other option to regain our dignity from someone who is catching hold of it. If there is an insect in our home, we kill it. If a street dog enters your house and disturbs your peace, you shoo it out. But if a father, head of a family gets drunk every night he reaches home thus disturbing the equilibrium of your home, ruining the peace of its people, you dont kill the father. You don't shoo them out either, even if you do, you'll let him in later. Because he is family. I'm not speaking about some fathers who are a disgust to the system by being moral criminals. Those cases are different all together. But in general, you(who is concerned) takes control of the house and makes sure your father is in control. Foreign invasion isn't family, now don't try to get into the world brotherhood of mankind as its only applicable when its a two way street. Revolt, but try to make sure what/who you are revolting against.

Revolution Misunderstood: Protesting against politicians for misusing taxpayers money, people are ruining part of it themselves.

Our founding fathers created a nation that supports Democracy, created a nation that facilitates freedom of speech, a nation that respects individual concern over government by creating various ways to be part of the system. If someone finds these objectives violated, complain. If changing the system is the only visible option, be the change. Its a democratic country. You have to think how to handle your father/head of house. There is now DIY booklet for it. Satyagrahas, Bhuk hartal(indefinite fast), Violent activities(burning down buses etc.,) If you don't like the system, elect a new guy, if there isn't any guy suitable to be voted, be the guy yourself or find a guy and convince and support him to go ahead. If the leader is already selected, ask for a mid-term election in unison. Every facility is available in the constitution. Using it is upto an individual. Whats the point in asking the drunk father to stop drinking by threatening him with your indefinite fast!! The only change that could ensure is that he wouldn't be drinking when you are there. The problem isn't eradicated. Its foolish to ask a corrupt person to get out all his money! You know he is corrupt, make him pay for it. If the government is with him, create a government of your own and fight with them in elections. It isn't tough to compete against financially stable politicians if you are clear about your cause and are able to explain people your view and your future actions. Gone are the days when people accept "I'll make India free from corruption, Everybody will get a job" People, those who understand the value of votes, dont find these vague promises well, promising enough. If a system is created to keep a check on all the corrupt people, whats the assurance that the people who are in the new system themselves wouldn't be corrupt! Maybe not the first generation, maybe not the next, but somehow someone or the other can get into the post.

Incalculable People willing to bring the change but unsure of the direction

I'll discuss the issues Lokpal Bill in detail in another post.

There are many people attending the Anna Hazare Hartal regularly, who, when interviewed by me didnt even know the difference between Lokpal Bill accepted by government, and the JanLokpal bill demanded by the Anna Team. And barely anyone know about 'Lokayukta' Post in India. Though the power of Lokayukta's report managed to change the ruling Chief Minister of Karnataka, someone who had been the backbone of a national party for decades. I'm not favorable to Government, I'm not favorable to any moment right now. All I believe is that there is a system designed to be used if you want. Then why trouble in arguing and revolting! This leads to many unwanted 'patriots' who, burning buses (of other people) ruining education (of the people), just amuse themselves in a revolution and embarrass the very cause!
